The lip augmentation or regeneration procedure involves injecting small portions of a special gel into the lips or surrounding area, using a very thin needle or cannula that minimises the risk of bruising. Lip augmentation is carried out under local or dental anaesthesia. Depending on your needs, hyaluronic acid may be administered into the lip contours or the redness of the lips, into the middle of the mouth or right above the upper lip.
The procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes. Afterwards, the filler is practically impalpable and the lips are soft and elastic. Swelling and bruising may sometimes occur. However, these symptoms subside after 2 – 4 days.
Generally, the effects last on average from 6 to 12 months.
