Effects:

  • stimulation and acceleration of new hair growth
  • inhibition of hair loss
  • hair thickening
  • scalp regeneration
  • hair nutrition and strengthening
  • restoration of hair shine
  • regulation of the sebaceous (oil) gland function

Indications:

About the procedure

Laser stimulation of hair growth offers an alternative or complementary solution to therapies aimed at hair thickening and strengthening as well as inhibiting hair loss.

Clinical trials revealed that the Er:YAG laser beam with a wavelength of 2940 nm, while acting directly on the scalp, stimulates “latent” hair follicles to move on to the next phase, i.e. to active growth.

The Fotona laser stimulation of hair growth is a procedure that involves even heating of deeper scalp structures without affecting the continuity of the epidermis. This leads to:

  • increased blood flow to “latent hair follicles”, which receive the so-called “boost of energy” to encourage new hair growth;
  • release of growth factors (TGFB3 and EGF), which also have a positive effect on hair growth;
  • accelerated restoration of the epidermal cells of the scalp, which means faster regeneration of hair follicles weakened by androgens.

This procedure has been successfully used by American doctors to treat androgenetic alopecia (hair loss) and results in even a 75% increase in hair thickness amongst patients whose hair loss was identified not earlier than 8 years before.

To achieve even better effects, we recommend that the laser treatments be alternated with needle mesotherapy.

FOR WHOM?

Laser hair growth stimulation is recommended for both women and men in order to thicken and nourish the hair and inhibit the process of hair loss. It is an alternative or complementary treatment to other therapies, such as needle mesotherapy with vitamin cocktails or platelet-rich plasma, supplements, hair scrubs or drugs.

It is also an effective procedure recommended for strengthening and regeneration of weakened and devitalised hair.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR THE TREATMENT?

In order to achieve the best effects possible, we suggest performing needle mesotherapy of the scalp prior to the series of laser treatments.

On the day of the laser treatment, it is necessary to wash the hair without applying any styling agents.

WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT PROCEDURE LOOK LIKE?

The treatment area is divided into smaller parts, which receive laser “shots” one after another, from the top of the head to the forehead, and then from the forehead to the top of the head.

Pain sensations

The treatment procedure is performed using the Er:YAG laser in the SMOOTH mode. This is a non-ablative laser that does not affect the continuity of the epidermis. The treatment is pain-free and requires neither cooling nor anaesthesia. The procedure is described by our Patients as comfortable.

Recommended number of treatment procedures

The complete treatment procedure consists of 7 sessions: every 14 days.

It is usually 6 weeks after the first treatment procedure that new hair growth and strengthening of the existing hair can be observed.

To maintain the effects, it is recommended to have a booster session performed 6 months after completing the series of treatment procedures.

Duration of the treatment procedure

The treatment procedure takes approx. 30 minutes.

Post-treatment recovery

Patients can resume their normal daily activities immediately after the procedure.

A light erythema (redness) may appear on the scalp, which fades within a few days. The scalp may be more sensitive to touch while the hair is being washed on the treatment day. Within 2–3 days after treatment, the scalp peels off for a while due to accelerated regeneration of the epidermis.

After treatment, we recommend using delicate hair shampoos and scalp moisturising agents.
