About the procedure

Snoring is a common problem that affects as many as 45% of the Polish population. The treatment methods used so far are characterised by high invasiveness (surgical interventions) or insufficient effects (aerosols, nasal strips, extraoral devices). New possibilities are offered by the laser therapy of snoring - an effective, minimally invasive and safe method of treatment. As many as 80% of patients experience visible reduction in snoring after a series of 4 laser treatments!

The purpose of the laser therapy of snoring is to strengthen the soft tissues of the palate. During the procedure, the energy of the Er:YAG laser heats up parts of the palate whose relaxation disturbs the free flow of air while sleeping. The treatment leads to shrinkage of collagen fibres and stiffening of the palate. Stiffening the palate reduces the vibrations of soft tissues and the uvula, thereby making the air flow freely.

The unique properties of the Er:YAG Fotona laser allow for superficial penetration of heat into the tissues, without causing any damage or adverse effects. The laser beam is delicate enough to be used on the sensitive oral tissue and - at the same time - powerful enough to produce good clinical effects.

For Whom?

Laser treatment of snoring is recommended for individuals who are searching for an effective and minimally invasive solution that reduces or eliminates snoring.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR THE TREATMENT?

In order to be qualified for the treatment, during the consultation appointment with our physician, the Patient needs to present a certificate from a laryngologist that there are no contraindications to the laser treatment of snoring.

WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT PROCEDURE LOOK LIKE?

The treatment procedure involves precise focusing of the Er:YAG laser beam on specific areas in the oral cavity.

Pain sensations

The procedure is performed using the non-ablative Er:YAG laser that does not affect the continuity of the epidermis. The treatment is pain-free and requires no anaesthesia.

Recommended number of treatment procedures

The complete treatment procedure consists of 4 sessions performed on the following days: 1, 15, 45, and 75. The effects are visible as early as on the first day after treatment and persist for about a year. If snoring recurs, it is necessary to undergo the next series of treatment procedures.

Duration of the treatment procedure

The treatment procedure takes approx. 30 minutes.

Post-treatment recovery

After the procedure, there is no recovery period and patients can resume their normal daily activities. It is recommended to refrain from drinking and consuming very cold and very hot beverages and meals on the treatment day.
