What does the treatment procedure look like?

Laser treatment of acne lesions is a procedure that requires no anaesthesia. The first stage involves thorough cleaning of the skin, after which the person performing the procedure protects the Patient’s eyes with special safety goggles. The next stage is to set proper parameters and deliver the treatment to the indicated area.

To achieve the desired effects quicker, the laser treatment may be combined with chemical peelings (almond, glycolic, pyruvic or salicylic acids – depending on the severity of acne lesions). Adding a chemical acid to the treatment will increase the effectiveness of the treatment procedure and reduce the number of laser treatment sessions.

When the treatment procedure is over, the Patient receives post-treatment recommendations to follow.

Pain sensations

Laser treatment of acne requires no anaesthesia. During the treatment procedure, the skin feels warm and a little bit prickly (the needles-and-pins sensation).

Recommended number of treatment procedures

Depending on the severity of acne lesions, it is recommended to undergo 3–6 laser treatment sessions every 7 days.

Duration of the treatment procedure

The estimated duration of the procedure is 30 minutes.

Post-treatment recovery

Immediately after treatment, slight erythema (redness) may appear to the skin, which should fade after a few hours. After the procedure, Patients can resume their normal daily activities. The treatment procedure requires no recovery period.
