About the procedure

Carbon peeling is otherwise known as laser peeling, Hollywood Peel or Black Doll treatment. The treatment owes its popularity to Hollywood stars who have it performed before important events to give their skin a healthy and radiant glow. It is also gaining widespread popularity amongst Patients who are searching for a treatment method to quickly improve their appearance.

The procedure uses the potential of the high-energy Q-Switch Nd:Yag laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm in combination with carbon cream applied to the treatment site.

Such a unique combination produces spectacular effects both on the external layer of the epidermis (through photoablation, or evaporation, of the external epidermal tissue and its imperfections) and in the deeper structures of the skin (the dermis), with a view to cleaning and closing pores, achieving an even skin tone, stimulating regenerative processes, reconstructing collagen fibres, reducing inflammation and sebum production as well as smoothing wrinkles. These processes result in beautiful, radiant and healthy skin.

For whom?

Carbon peeling is recommended to individuals who would like to quickly improve the appearance of their skin by giving it a healthy and radiant glow. Hollywood peel is also recommended to those who desire to get rid of excess sebum on the surface of their skin, close the pores or stimulate the regenerative processes in the deeper layers of the skin, thereby smoothing its wrinkles as well as enhancing the skin’s firmness and flexibility.

Laser peeling is also an ideal solution for Patients who are prone to acne on the face, back and neckline.

What does the treatment procedure look like?

The treatment procedure is divided into 3 stages:

  1. The first stage involves thorough cleaning of the treatment site and protecting the Patient’s eyes with special safety goggles.

  2. After that, the treatment site is covered with carbon cream which is precisely massaged into the skin and then left to dry for approx. 10–15 minutes.
  3. The next stage involves the first application of the laser in order to increase the absorption of carbon particles into the pores and stimulate the regeneration of the skin’s cells.
  4. Next, a laser beam with a wavelength of 1064 nm is applied to the skin, causing the so-called micro-explosions of the carbon particles on the skin’s surface. Then, the laser’s impulses eliminate the carbon, dermal contamination from the pores and excessive sebum secretions from the skin – this is accompanied by characteristic sounds and the skin feels slightly warm.

When the procedure is over, the skin is perfectly clean and its regenerative processes stimulated, without any visible traces on the external layer of the skin itself.

Pain sensations

Carbon peeling requires no anaesthesia and a huge advantage is the painlessness of the procedure. The only thing experienced by Patients is delicate impulses of warmth and slight stings or pricks. Our Patients describe this procedure as comfortable.

It is an ideal solution for individuals with a low pain threshold and those who cannot use anaesthetics.

Recommended number of treatment procedures

This procedure can be performed in series or on a one-off basis before an important event. The number of recommended treatment procedures is an individual matter and depends on such factors as the skin’s condition and expected effects.

To achieve the ‘glow’ effect of smooth and radiant skin, the procedure should be performed a day or two before an important event.

In order to unify the skin’s tone, rebuild its structures, smooth out the wrinkles as well as permanently improve its firmness and flexibility, it is necessary to stimulate special processes in the skin, the effects of which will be visible after a few sessions. It is recommended to undergo a series of 3–5 treatment sessions at intervals of 2–4 weeks.

To achieve revitalising and refreshing effects, the treatment procedure can be performed every month. Each subsequent session will lead to visible improvement of the skin’s condition due to the stimulation of its regenerative processes.

Duration of the treatment procedure

Depending on the treatment site, the procedure takes from 30 minutes on the face to 60 minutes on a larger area (e.g. the back).

Post-treatment recovery

The treatment procedure requires no recovery period so Patients can resume their normal daily activities immediately after the procedure.
